IPL 10 RCB vs KXIP: Maxwell-Amla overshadow De Villier's fighting knock, sail Punjab to victory

Hashim Amla scored a massive 55 out of 35 balls by hitting 4 fours and 3 sixes while Glenn Maxwell scored a quick 23 off just 14 balls by hitting 3 fours and 1 six

Despite a mind-blowing inning from AB de Villiers of 89 runs off 46 balls, The Royal challengers Bangalore lost their third game against the Kings XI Punjab by 8 wickets. With his game, another massive victory has been grabbed by Preity Zinta-owned KXIP on their home ground. Hashim Amla scored a half-century and his inning of 55 runs helped Punjab to win their 2nd game in a row.

After a massive AB de Villiers show in the first innings, a target of 149 runs was set by the RCB for Punjab to chase. Just like the previous game, Hashim Amla and Mana Vohra came into open the inning for KXIP. The opening was already high on confidence as they had already performed well against Rising Pune Supergiants in their previous game. Punjab had a massive start and both the openers added a total of 62 runs for the first wicket.

Manan Vohra was the first scalp extracted out by the Bangalore overseas bowler Tymal Mills. Mills dismissed Vohra after he had scored 34 off 1 runs. Next man in, Axar Patel, couldn’t do that well and he was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal at a score of 9 off 6 balls which also included a six.

Then came Punjab’s big name and the skipper, Glenn maxwell, himself came in to bat at number 4 and then both the batsmen on the crease found no big challenge to face in the bowling attack and carried their team to victory single-handedly. Hashim Amla scored a massive 55 out of 35 balls by hitting 4 fours and 3 sixes. While Glenn Maxwell scored a quick 23 off just 14 balls by hitting 3 fours and 1 six while the winning shot too came off his bat!

Axar Patel grabbed the Man of the Match award for his splendid spell of 12 runs in 4 overs and one wicket.
