IPL 10 RPS vs DD: Here’s why Pune players put black band on arms during the game

The reason behind putting on the black band proved why cricket is known as the gentlemen's game

Once again it was proved world-wide that why the game of cricket is called as the ‘gentlemen’s game’. The match number 9 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 10 between Rising Pune Supergaints (RPS) and Delhi Daredevils (DD) presented an example of one such gestures. The RPS boys put a black band over their arms to show respect for passing away of their team mate Manoj Tiwary’s father.

Tiwary also missed out the third game of Pune because of this unfortunate incident while debutant Rahul Tripathi was picked in the squad who made his debut for the side.

Tiwary’s presence was remarkable in the last game against the Kings XI Punjab. He played a knock of 31 crucial runs along with Ben Stokes and added a total of 61 runs. His inning not only helped in brewing a fruitful partneship but also recovered the Pune side from a endangered position and put a fighting total on the score borad.

Manoj Tiwary lost his father this morning & won’t be playing. We send our condolences to him & his family. #RangWahiJungNayi #RPSvDD

There were several bowling changes in the squad as well. Rahul Chahar was dropped while Aussie spinner Adam Zampa was included.
