IPL 10 RPS vs DD: Sanju Samson hits first century of this season, scores 102 off 63

In the 19th over, Sanju Samson hit another six at the very first ball bowled by Adam Zampa and completed his ton

And finally, the first ton of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 10 has come, and it was the young Sanju Samson who delivered it. The crowd remained awestruck by the composed performance of Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant in the game number 9 played in Pune between Rising Pune Supergiants and Delhi Daredevils. Pune, after winning the toss, invited the Delhi boys to bat first. Skipper Zaheer gave Aditya Tare a chance to open the Delhi innings along with Englishman Sam Billings. But unfortunately, Tare couldn’t get off the mark and was dismissed very early and that, too, for a duck. In the second over, Pune got the breakthrough as Deepak Chahar dismissed Tare.

Sanju Samson came in to bat at number 3 and the Kerala Ranji captain was expected to do something big just like he did for the Rajasthan Royals earlier. Samson, who failed to perform in the last game, looked much experienced from his last innings and played the way he is known for. He charged brutally to Ashoke Dinda and hit 3 fours in Dinda’s second over. With the course of time, Samson became familiar with the conditions and then he didn’t look back. Samson hit his fifth IPL half century in 42 balls.

Hitter of the last game, Rishabh Pant got run out after scoring 32 runs off 22 balls and Samson lost a partner with whom he was brewing a handsome partnership. They both added a total of 51 runs for the 4th wicket.

But Samson was looking totally stress-free and was moving ahead for the first century of this season. In the 18th over, Dinda again came to bowl and Sanju again charged him for a six in the very first bowl. And finally, it was the 19th over when Samson hit another six at the very first ball bowled by Adam Zampa and completed his ton. After this hundred, Samson becomes the 28th man to score a ton in IPLs.

Though the Delhi fans were a bit disappointed with Pant’s dismissal, Sanju’s marvellous knock of 102 off 63 paid the price off. As soon as the hundred came off Samson’s bat, the Twitterati poured their wishes for the young man from Kerala.
