The Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has been struggling really hard to get on top of the points tally of the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as they have just managed to win just one out of five games they have played. They have only 2 points in their account and lying at the last spot in the tally. Meanwhile, former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly has given his remark on RCBs team selection.
The president of Cricket Association of Bengal thinks that RCB should pick Chris Gayle up in the team instead of Shane Watson in order to win matches in the ongoing tournament. An India Today report quoted Sourav Ganguly as saying,”The RCB need to think how they could get Chris Gayle back into the team. Gayle has to play in the IPL. Indeed they have had a little bit of a tough time, I know they are trying to get Shane Watson play as an all-rounder but Watson has done nothing and he looks like a patch of his old self and maybe there can be a case of swapping him with Gayle at the top of the order.”
The star-studded Royal Challengers Bangalore has been struggling in the ongoing tournament as the players have not yet performed up to the mark. In addition, the main performers of the squad are either injured or yet to show their skills up to the fullest. Skipper Virat Kohli missed the first two games due to his shoulder injury while opener KL Rahul has yet not recovered from his shoulder surgery and is out of the team. However, skipper Kohli, after his return, has been found in a remarkable form and so has AB de Villiers been.
In two of the five games played so far, Chris Gayle was dropped out from the team but no effective result came out of it. And now, when RCB is all set to play the Gujarat Lions in Rajkot, the team management has to put their brains into gear and take a tough call on the selection of overseas players.
