It doesn’t matter whether you are a cricket fan or not but when it’s MS Dhoni on the television screen hitting a humongous six, that moment definitely deserves a bow. You cannot deny this fact, for sure, that when Mahi comes on the ground to bat, everything else can wait. And today, when the game number 17 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 10 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rising Pune Supergiant, Mahendra Singh Dhoni took us back to the late 2000s when he was at the peak of his form.
It was the last bowl of the 14th over. MS Dhoni had the strike and Yuzvendra Chahal was the bowler. Chahal delivered the ball while Dhoni, who already had figured out the length, came down the track and transferring full power to his bat hit it so brutally towards the long-on that the ball took off from the ground, went high up in the air and within a while it’s just disappeared in the space. People those who witnessed this moment—including the RCB players, RPS players, the commentators, the fans, the haters etc.—were just left awestruck. The episode was similar to some interstellar commotion which occurs once in a decade.

Thanks to the latest camera technology i.e. the spider cam which dared to trace the ball and finally it was found on the roof of the stadium. Now with this ‘into the orbit’ shot, MS Dhoni not only gave a pinch-hitting reply to his critics but also gave a solid example that class never goes and age is just a number.
After a long streak of poor performance, Dhoni finally visible in his old skin. However, he was later dismissed by Shane Watson at 28 off 25 balls but in the end, Rising Pune Supergiants clinched the victory from Bangalore by 27 runs.
