The Kolkata Knight Riders team is in Bangalore right now as they are scheduled to play the game number 46 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 10 against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on May 7. Ahead of the game, KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir was wished to spend some leisure time with his team members and feels that he must watch the recently released blockbuster movie Baahubali – The Conclusion.
In a column called ‘captain’s diary’, written by Gautam Gambhir for the official website of Kolkata Knight Riders, he has expressed this movie watching wish and had mentioned,”I’m thinking of watching Baahubali-2 with some of my team-mates. Being at Bangalore, there is an advantage that one of my friends owns a multiplex here, so houseful or no houseful there is always room for me and my friends.Selfish? Agreed. On second thoughts, I am thinking, after all, why did NCA want to know our mother tongue!”
Well, now we have to wait and know whether he gets time to watch the movie and he enjoys it or not!
Apart from watching Bahubali-2, Gambhir also recalled some of the old memories of this city. Gambhir was one of the young budding cricketers to be invited at the National Cricket Academy back in the year 2000 among Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Mohammad Kaif, and Zaheer Khan. After reaching Bangalore, he shared some of the hilarious incidents and writes,”One day were asked to fill the NCA form. All the questions were easy to answers but in one of them, one of my future India team-mates fumbled and left us in raptures. The question asked ‘Mother tongue’ to which my friend replied pink”.
“Similarly, when NCA director Late Hanumant Singh asked one of my another mate about being home sick, he answered that nobody is sick at my home, all are healthy.”
