After losing a thriller face-off against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Glenn Maxwell and Co. are now ready to play Mumbai Indians (MI) at their home. The game number 22 is scheduled to be played between the MI and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at the Holkar stadium and ahead of the game, the home team was spotted sweating it out during the net sessions.
On April 20, the KXIP team shared some pictures on their official Facebook page which showed the players preparing on the nets for their next game. Since the venue is located in the central region of India, the intensity of heat at this point will definitely be high. Hence, the players are finding their own way to beat the heat.
Punjab’s furious batsman David Miller opted the best way to practice on the nets. In the picture shared, he could be seen shirtless while facing some deliveries during the practice session. He had all his gears done but minus shirt.
Well, we have to admit that Miller is looking as hot as the temperature in Indore which compelled him to go shirtless.
Apart from Miller, other players of Punjab like Martin Guptill, Ishant Sharma, Wriddhiman Saha, skipper Glenn Maxwell and coach Virender Sehwag were also spotted on the ground.
Earlier on April 19, a video was also published on the same Facebook page where pacer Ishant Sharma was seen working with his bowling skills on the net. The video was shared with a caption saying,”The boys are training hard to ensure that we maintain our 100% home record this season! Here’s Ishant Sharma in the nets! #LivePunjabiPlayPunjabi.”
Well, it’s a tough time for the Preity Zinta-owned Kings XI Punjab in the tournament as after winning their first two games, they have lost all the matches played later. After winning only 2 games out 5 being played, Punjab is standing at the 5th position in the points tally with only 4 points in their account. Though there are still 9 games left for them but to reach the qualifiers KXIP needs to shift the moment right at this point of time.
