In order to retain their respective stands in the points table, Zaheer Khan led Delhi Daredevils will play Gujarat Lions in the game number 50 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 10 at the Green Park stadium in Kanpur on May 10. Both the teams are currently in 6t and 7th position respectively with 8 points each. However, there are no chances left for both the sides to enter the play-offs.
Like the previous game, Zaheer Khan will again be leading the Delhi side today. Earlier he missed a few games due to a hamstring injury. After his return, Delhi badly lost their last game against Mumbai Indians where they beat their own lowest team total and were all out for 67. Not only they lost the game but also missed the chance to win enter the play offs.
On the other hand, Gujarat Lions have to fight hard for their pride as they are left with only 2 more games and they would like to end their journey on a happy note in this tournament. Unfortunately, it has been for the first time in the history of IPL that Suresh Raina will not appear in the play-offs. While playing for Chennai, he was part of every year’s qualifier rounds. Last year, Gujarat entered into the play-offs but they lost against Royal Challengers Bangalore first and then against Sunrisers Hyderabad and thus were eliminated from the tournament.
