IPL 2017 KXIP v GL: Busy day for Twitterati! After Narine, all hail Amla's second IPL ton in Mohali

After playing 43 balls and hitting 5 sixes and 8 fours, Amla ended up scoring 104

After a real stunner by Sunil Narine in the game number 46 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on May 7, there was another power packed game in the later half of the day when Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) played the Gujarat Lions in Mohali. Hashim Alma hit his second ever IPL century and also in this season. He played a phenomenal knock of 104 runs off 60 balls and became the second batsman in the IPLs to hit more than one century in a single.

In the game number 47, Gujarat skipper Suresh Raina won the toss and elected to field first. In order to bat first, Hashim Amla and Martin Guptill came but unfortunately, Guptill was dismissed early by Pradeep Sangwan. From that very moment, Amla and Shaun Marsh took the charged and brutally punished the Punjab bowlers. Meanwhile, Marsh scored another half-century of this season. After hitting 6 fours, he scored 58 off 43 balls before he was dismissed by Dhawal Kulkarni.

But Amla had already had this in the back of his head that he need to do something big. He kept on thrashing the Gujarat bowlers and hitting bigger shots. He carried on hitting along with Punjab skipper Glenn Maxwell and then came the last over when Amla was playing in the 90s. After playing 43 balls and hitting 5 sixes and 8 fours, Amla ended up scoring 104.

It was too enjoyable, that too on a Sunday, to witness back-to-back monstrous innings on Indian ground. The Twitterati enjoyed thoroughly enjoyed the “Amla ka Hamla”, and poured their reactions on Twitter.
