It is a tricky situation for both the teams as they are getting desperate to seal a spot for themselves in the IPL 2017 playoffs. After RPS’ previous win against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) they are in the 3rd spot with 7 wins in 11 games whereas SRH having lost their previous game against Delhi Daredevils (DD) are in 4th spot with 6 wins in 11 games.
SRH have a home advantage going into the fixture, they have not lost a single game playing in their home conditions and will be looking to do exactly that. David Warner is in fine form having scored a century in this year’s IPL. Shikhar Dhawan, Kane Williamson and Yuvraj Singh too have fired up the order. Yuvraj scored 70 in the previous game against DD in a losing cause. SRH’s bowling has been a plus point for them with Bhuvneshwar Kumar accompanied by young bowlers Sidharth Kaul, Mohammed Siraj and Afghanistan sensation Rashid Khan by his side.
On the other hand, RPS have finally found the rhythm everyone expected them to be in. Rahul Tripathi has been the ‘find of the season’ as he has performed consistently throughout the tournament and almost single-handedly won the contest for them in the previous game. Though Ajinkya Rahane’s form is a reason of worry for them. Steven Smith too has looked patchy after kicking off the tournament on a high.
The good news for RPS is Ben Stokes’ form who has finally shown the worth of his whopping amount of Rs. 14.5 crore. MS Dhoni too has performed on and off. Daniel Christian has become an indispensable part of the side with his all-round performance.
