After a great opening day at the Indian Premier League, which started off with a Yuvraj Singh blockbuster. Today was the western derby between Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiant. The match made headlines because Mahendra Singh Dhoni took the field as a non-captain after captaining 143 Indian Premier League matches. Steven Smith, the new captain won the toss and without any hesitation opted to field first.
Mumbai Indians got off to a good start, but soon Imran Tahir was introduced into the attack and he struck straight away. He first got rid off Parthiv Patel for 19 and soon wickets fell on a platter. Jos Butler the stand-in opener played a quickfire 38 off 19 balls. But Rohit Sharma, who is coming back after a lay off fell cheaply for 3. Soon, Rajat Bhatia was introduced in the attack and with his very first ball he got rid of Ambati Rayadu for 10. Bhatia then removed Krunal Pandya. But Pollard finally stood his ground and helped Mumbai Indians to a respectable
