Mumbai Indians (MI) took the long route to Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 final to be played at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Hyderabad against Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS). It was a day where nothing went wrong for MI who thrashed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) left, right and center. None of the plans that worked through the IPL seemed to work for KKR. In the end they were beaten quite comprehensively by MI as they won the qualifier 2 with 33 balls to spare.
It was a metaphorical bloodbath for KKR batsmen as they did not put up a fight in the top and middle order. Skipper Gautam Gambhir’s gamble to open with Sunil Narine did not work out well as he got out cheaply. Lynn too lapsed early on in the innings.

Despite Suryakumar Yadav and Ishank Jaggi tried to do damage control but the KKR side bundled out with 7 balls to spare. They could only put up a below par score of 107.

MI batting lineup had a few hiccups early on as they lost three wickets quite quickly. But, skipper Rohit Sharma and Krunal Pandya took them home quite comfortably.
