Kolkata Knight Riders player Sunil Narine made a mockery of Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers as he smashed them all around the park to register fastest 50 in the IPL history at the M Chinnaswamy stadium on May 7. Narine , who came to open the innings with Australian Chris Lynn, smashed four sixes and six fours. He completed his 50 in just 15 balls. Narine broke the record of Chris Lynn who scored 50 in 19 balls against Gujarat Lions in this IPL season on April 7.
Besides Narine, Chris Lynn too played a vital knock to help KKR surpass 100 run mark in just 6 overs. Lynn ( batting on 49) has so far smashed four sixes and five fours.
Earlier put in to bat, Bangalore, currently at the bottom of the table with only five points from 12 game and almost out of the IPL trophy race, managed to put 158 runs on board in their quota of 20 overs.
For RCB, Travis Head top scored with 75 (not out) off just 47 balls. During his stay at the crease he smashed KKR bowlers for five sixes and three fours. Besides, Mandeep Singh too played an important knock of 52 off 43 balls.
For KKR, Umesh Yadav was the pick of bowler for picking 3 wickets.
KKR, who are desperate to win the game to cement their place in the playoffs next week despite being at third place in the table with 14 points from seven wins out of 11 games, need 159 runs to win.
