The feeds of Twitter were flooded with hilarious jokes and pictures soon after Royal Challengers Bangalore’s big guns Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers yet again failed to deliver with their bat during their Indian Premier League match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on May 7.
KKR Pacer Umesh Yadav sent back West Indian explosive batsman Chris Gayle on the first ball of RCB’s innings. He then dismissed RCB skipper Virat Kohli (5, 4×0, 6×0) while off-spinner Sunil Narine dismissed AB de Villiers (10, 4×2, 6×0).
Earlier put in to bat, Bangalore, currently at the bottom of the table with only five points from 12 game and almost out of the IPL trophy race, managed to put 158 runs on board.
For RCB, Travis Head top scored with 75 (not out) off just 47 balls. During his stay at the crease he smashed KKR bowlers for five sixes and three fours. Besides, Mandeep Singh too played an important knock of 52 off 43 balls.
For KKR, Umesh Yadav was the pick of bowler for picking 3 wickets.
KKR, who are desperate to win the game to cement their place in the playoffs next week despite being at third place in the table with 14 points from seven wins out of 11 games, need 159 runs to win.
