IPL 2017, RCB v SRH, match report: Rain plays spoilsport, teams share points

This one point helped RCB to acquire the 6th position in the position and have surpassed Delhi Daredevils and the Gujarat Lions

Heavy rains washed out the Indian Premier League (IPL) 10 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 25 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

Earlier today, the toss got delayed as the drizzling began in the evening and eventually grown into a shower and the covers were called on. The home team was coming into the game after being bundled out for a record low of 49 in their previous match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens.

The match officials waited long for the drizzle to stop but it rained out heavily there. Finally, the game between both the teams was called off as the ground conditions were couldn’t afford a game to be played on it after a heavy rain. Both teams shared one point each after match officials decided to abandon the game at 11 p.m. local time, with rain continuing to fall.

This one point helped RCB to acquire the 6th position in the position and have surpassed Delhi Daredevils and the Gujarat Lions. Earlier they were lying at the last spot with just 4 points. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are at the third position with nine points from eight matches. This will hurt RCB more than the other team David Warner’s SRH. SRH has been more or less a steady unit, they have a good bowling and batting balance, but with RCB they have been accused of being patchy, sometimes hot and at times cold, this has also been their story in the last 9 editions of the league.
