Kings XI Punjab lost to Rising Pune Supergiant in a match that could have decided the fate of the teams before the playoffs. Instead, KXIP lost by 9 wickets to RPS. The way they played must have shattered their innumerable fans and Priety Zinta. Virender Sehwag, who is the mentor of KXIP, came out and spoke his heart out. He criticised the batsman and really got stuck into them.
Virender Sehwag in his press conference said, “Glenn Maxwell was given the responsibility to bat at least till the 18th over then whatever happens it is okay, but they fell apart and in the fashion they did has really hurt. Even Martin Guptill who was expected to shoulder responsibility failed by playing an irresponsible shot.”
He also spoke about Hashim Amla’s absence and said, ” Amla was missed big time. he was someone who could have shouldered responsibility as he showed throughout the tournament and hence he not there was a big setback.”

Virender Sehwag also spoke of the Indian players and said, ” Indian players have not performed. Manan, Saha clicked in one match and that was it, no major consistency and that hurt us.”
Virender Sehwag also added, “I had told them to hold their ground, but they failed to do that. Maxwell failed and played well below his standards.”
