Welcome to inUth’s digital coverage of Indian Premier League (IPL) 10’s Match 21 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Daredevils (DD) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Both the teams are placed at No. 3 and 4 respectively on IPL 2017 Standings. DD have had a good IPL season so far despite winning only 2 of their 4 matches in the tournament. Zaheer Khan’s team has been the toughest contender to beat this season as they have not been beaten by any side comprehensively.
SRH on the other side are the ‘Defending Champions’ of the tournament and have managed to live up to the reputation so far having placed at No.3 in standings. Their Afghan-gamble in IPL Player Auction has paid off as Rashid Khan has been one of the best spinners in the season so far with even his stock delivery not picked by the batsmen. His teammate Mohammed Nabi too is not far behind having proven himself in debut IPL match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP).
SRH’s bowling has been a plus point for them, their Indian bowling spearhead Bhuvneshwar is currently in possession of the ‘Purple Cap’ having picked up 15 wickets. Ashish Nehra has been a little out of form but you can never ignore the veteran’s services. The latest entrant in the bowling squad, domestic talent Siddharth Kaul too has been bowling well.
SRH’s main concern revolves around their batting lineup which looks a bit wobbly if their big guns do not fire. Warner alongside Yuvraj Singh and Shikhar Dhawan need to hold their ground if SRH are to post a big total on the scoreboard.
DD have been blessed with the young domestic talent who have been contributing with both bat and ball. Sanju Samson, the first centurion of IPL 2017 has been fine form, timing the ball with precision whereas Rishabh Pant has blasted the ball with his cameos, rescuing the team in times of troubles. Shreyas Iyer too has looked positive. Their only problem is Karun Nair who has looked rusty in the middle order. He might get replaced soon enough.
Sam Billings has performed well up the order. With Corey Anderson fit and sound DD will get an all-rounder to bank upon. Their bowling has been outstanding with Chris Morris, Pat Cummins, Zaheer Khan and Amit Mishra doing the needful. One thing is for sure, SRH will not have an easy win against DD’s ‘Dark-Horses’. The only surprise is that they have not used Kagiso Rabada’s services yet.
