IPL 2017: Twitterati chant 'Narayan Narayan' after Sunil Narine makes fastest ever IPL 50!

This knock not only became memorable for the fans but also for Narine as it was his first ever IPL half-century

May 5, 2017. This date has been registered in the history book of Indian Premier League (IPL) after the Carribean spinner Sunil Narine scored a massive 15 balls half-century, the fastest ever in any of the IPL seasons. This knock not only became memorable for the fans but also for Narine as it was his first ever IPL half-century too. All credit goes to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Gautam Gambhir whose gamble to deploy Narine in the opening slot worked in such a way that a history has been created and will be remembered for years.

In game number 46 of IPL against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium where KKR had a target of 159 runs to chase in 20 overs. Gautam Gambhir & Co. already had a good news as Chris Lynn was back in the squad and as expected he was sent to open the inning. But there came the gamble again. Instead of coming to open the inning with Chris Lynn, Gambhir sent Sunil Narine to open.

The pair of Lynn and Narine had their beast mode on and the entire scenario seemed like a video game. Both of them started charging the bowlers so hard that the bowlers hardly wanted to bowl further. Narine played a total of 17 balls and hit 4 sixes and 6 fours and ended up scoring 54 runs before he was dismissed by Aniket Chaudhary in the 7th over. Till then, Lynn and Narine had collectively set another IPL record of setting highest team total in the powerplays. They both added a total of 105 runs for the first wicket in 6 overs.

Well, this amazing incident happened on Sunday while a huge number of people witnessed this Narine show. Also, the Twitterati erupted in joy after watching such a monstrous inning and what they way they expressed their excitement within 140 characters is just worth reading.
