After the Border-Gavaskar potboiler, things still are far from dousing-out. Adam Zampa was the latest to target an Indian player. He said he was dying to see Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s facial hair. Well, that is as racial as it gets. But you expect such things and even worse from the Australians, who have given a testament of that in the recently concluded India vs Australia Test series.
There are already question marks hovering over Umesh Yadav’s availability and hence, he spoke in an exclusive interview to an Indian media house saying, “I strongly believe that animosity of one cricketing ground has to be left there itself so that one can focus on the next journey and the new pitch.”
Defending his captain Virat Kohli, the pacer said, “If you say start something, you have to be ready for the reaction, too. Everybody knows Virat didn’t start all this; it started from Aussie side.”
About the sledging, he said, “They started enjoying the sledging, and we followed suit.”

Adding further, he said, “If someone says anything to me, I will also not take it lying down. Australian started the fire and we returned in style.”
Ushering praises about his captain Virat Kohli, he said, “I think Virat is doing a fantastic job as a skipper. He motivates, supports and empowers the team and we are all giving our best because of his positive, vibrant energy. If Virat asked for my advice, I would just say ‘Be the way you are. Don’t pay any attention to these so-called accusations.”
