Match 37 of the ongoing Indian Premier League season 10 witnessed a bit of altercation between Kolkata Knight Riders wicketkeeper-batsman Robin Uthappa and Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowler Sidharth Kaul. The incident happened during the third over of KKR’s innings when Robin Uthappa smashed Kaul’s delivery for a boundary. Uthappa while returning towards his batting end pushed Kaul with his shoulder. This move by Uthappa angered Kaul in return and they exchanged few words between them.
Meanwhile, SRH’s start player Yuvraj Singh, who was fielding at the point position, came in between and exchanged few words with Uthappa to calm him down.
Earlier, KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir won the toss and invited Snrisers to bat first at the at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. SRH skipper and opening batsman David Warner smashed a marauding 126 runs off 59 deliveries to power defending champions to 209/3 in 20 overs.
During his stay at the middle, the Hyderabad captain smashed 10 fours and eight sixes. Warner along with Shikhar Dhawan put on 139-run partnership for the opening wicket. Later, Kane Williamson with his 40 off 25 ensured that Hyderabad crossed the 200-run mark. For KKR, only Chris Woakes managed to claim a wicket. Woakes ended with figures of 4-46-1.
In reply, KKR is struggling in chasing the mammoth total. Till the last report came in, KKR had already lost 5 wickets for just 130 runs on board. Key players Gautam Gambhir, Robin Uthappa and Yusuf Pathan had already walked back into the pavilion.
