Indian Premier League is all about excitement and something sort of happened during the Match 44 between Rsing Pune Supergaint and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on May 6.
Ayesha Mukherjee, the wife of Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan, got excited after her hubby smashed a six into the stands off Jaidev Unadkat during the Hyderabad innings. Dhawan, who has been in decent form in this IPL season, smashed one six and two fours during his 19 runs knock off 12 balls. He came out as an opener along with skipper David Warner (40 runs off 34 balls, 4×4, 1×6).
Left-handed batsman Shikhar Dhawan tied the knot with Melbourne-based Ayesha Mukherjee in 2012. According to the reports, Dhawan’s fellow teammate Harbhajan Singh introduced Mukherjee to him through Facebook.
Earlier after winning the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad showed clinical bowling effort to restrict Rising Pune Supergiant to 148/8 in their quota of 20 overs. For RPS, Ben Stokes (39 runs off 25 deliveries) provided the thrust in the middle and a late quickfire cameo from Mahendra Singh Dhoni (31 off 21) lifted Pune to 148/8.
In reply, Sunrisers could only manage to score 136 and they lost the game by 12 runs.
With the win, the Steve Smith-led Supergiant vaulted to the second spot in the IPL standings, and almost booked their place for the IPL play-offs while the Sunrisers remained fourth after their second successive loss.
