IPL Video: Sheldon Jackson's hit-wicket dismissal after he moonwalks over the stumps

The square-leg umpire referred to the TV umpire for the final decision and after watching the replay, Sheldon Jackson was given out

One of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 10 table toppers, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), were seen struggling today in the game against Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) while batting first at the Eden Gardens. The man in form Robin Uthappa has to miss the game as he had some problem in his back while his absence turned out to be costly for KKR.

Kolkata had an early blow as Sunil Narine was dismissed for a golden duck right there in the first over. Wicketkeeper Sheldon Jackson, who replaced Uthappa in today’s game, came in at number three to accompany skipper Gautam Gambhir. After a poor start, the responsibility of scoring runs automatically came on the shoulders of these two. For the next 2 overs, both the batsmen played calmly and added runs to the scoreboard. But the unfortunate incident happened in the last ball of the fourth over which ended the stint of Sheldon Jackson.

Washinton Sunder bowled the last ball of the over while Jackson, who had the strike, tried to turn the ball towards the short mid-wicket region. While doing so, his right leg hit the stumps and the wickets were dislodged. Unaware of that, Jackson rushed towards the non-striker’s end to take a single but meanwhile, he realised that he is out and started walking towards the pavilion. Watch Here: Sheldon Jackson’s unusual hit-wicket

The square-leg umpire referred to the TV umpire for the final decision. After watching the replay and getting the clear picture of the entire episode, Jackson was given out.

Jackson was dismissed for 10 runs off 9 balls while the KKR, with a throttling batting line-up, managed to put a total of 155 runs on the scoreboard after losing 8 wickets.
