Kolkata Knight Riders are taking on Rising Pune Supergiant in their own backyard. RPS won the toss and invited KKR to bat. KKR lost early wickets and whenever they were looking settled they lost a wicket and that is what set them back, they set RPS a tricky 156 to win. Manish Pandey top scored with 37 off 32 balls and the pick of the bowlers was Unadkat who picked 2 wickets for 28 runs in 4 overs. But what caught our attention was when a collision took place and things could have been worse, well, that was averted. As we speak, RPS have got off to a flyer in response to KKR’s 155, they are 74 for 1 in 6 overs. This is the second highest score against KKR in the power-play since the advent of the league. Rahul Tripathi is looking belligerent.
So, by the looks of it is going to be RPS’ night at the iconic Eden Gardens.
Steven Smith-Ben Stokes collision:
Steven Smith was at deep long on and Ben Stokes was at the cow-corner, the KKR batsman hit the ball looking for a six but all he could manage is sky the ball in the air. Both the fielders attacked the ball, without realising they were about to crash against each other. Well, that was averted but the six could not. It seems now that six will not make much of a difference.
The Philip Hughes incident is still fresh in the memories of cricket lovers, hence something even close to this happens, cricket fans get shivers for certain.
