Virender Sehwag is well known for his witty tweets but he has been kind to cricket fans sharing a few iconic photos of the good old days. This time around he shared a photo with the legends of the game playing Chess giving us an insight into their lives off the field which we have always longed to see. The photo shows former West Indies maverick opener Vivian Richards playing chess with the ‘God of Cricket’ aka Sachin Tendulkar sitting alongside Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh smiling as he has eyes set on the camera clicking the photograph.
Despite the iconic photo, studded with legends, Sehwag did not refrain from posting a witty caption on Twitter yet again. The caption on Twitter read, “Move in Silence, Speak only when it’s time to say Checkmate.”. Just when we think that Sehwag may run out of one-liners, he comes up with something new and refreshing.

The photo clearly shows Richards as attacking as ever even when off-the-field. The legendary batsman is giving three Indian batsmen a hard time in the chess as it seems when we look at the chess board closely. Tendulkar also shares a bond with Richards as he revealed that he was the one who persuaded him not to retire after India’s humiliating exit from ICC World Cup 2007.
Among the four of them, only one player has not retired from international cricket, Yuvraj Singh. Maybe he learned a thing or two from Richards and implemented them in his batting performance in the middle order. He is currently playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad and firing for them consistently. He is expected to be selected for India’s Champions Trophy 2017 squad as well starting June 1.
