Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, known for his witty and mocking replies on Twitter, recently took a dig at his former opening partner Gautam Gambhir.
This incident happened when Virender Sehwag, mentor of IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab, addressing a press conference to announce that Ishant Sharma, who earlier went unsold in the IPL 2017 auctions, would now be a part of KXIP franchise.
During the interaction when one of the reporters present to cover the event informed Sehwag about Kolkata Knight Riders skipper’s words about Ishant.
Gmabhir had said: “Nobody will pay Rs 2 crore for 4 overs. I am surprised to see Ishant’s base price.”
On this Sehwag sarcastically replied, “Tell me one thing, who pays your Rs 12 crore for playing 60 balls then?”
Seems this comment by Sehwag would probably not go down well with left-handed batsman Gambhir.
Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir’s Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Gujarat Lions at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in the ongoing 10th season of Indian Premier League tournament later in the day. The match will start at 8 PM lST.
On the other hand, Kings XI Punjab will begin their IPL 10 campaign against Rising Pune Supergiants in Indore from April 8.
RPS have already achieved the 2 points after they won their opening game against the Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets under new skipper Steve Smith.
