Indian Premier League 2017, RPS v SRH: The umpire did not even have to seek referral of the third umpire as he knew he was out

Rising Pune Supergiant are taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad in what for them is a crucial match. SRH won the toss and opted to field. Ashish Nehra was making a comeback into the team and there were a lot of expectations from him and from upcoming youngster Rahul Tripathi was high. Rahul Tripathi who is in scintillating form from the last game was expected to get going but his innings was cut short due to a lapse in concentration that led to his dismissal. Sunrisers Hyderabad have been a team in good form.

The score of RPS was 6/0, that is when Rahul Tripathi was on strike, Nehra was the bowler. Nehra bowled a ball cramping up Rahul in his hip region. Rahul tucked it of his hips to short fine-leg, where Bipul Sharma was stationed. He picked up the ball in one go and hit the stumps on the full. Rahul in the meanwhile had taken off as he hit the ball, without even looking at his non-striker Ajinkya Rahane. Rahane did the right thing, he did not respond and Rahul could not turn and return on time. The timber had been disturbed it was the end of Rahul Tripathi. SRH got and early wicket and were all jubilant. The umpire did not even have to seek referral of the third umpire as he knew he was out.
