Rising Pune Supergiant player Ajinkya Rahane, who played an important knock in guiding his team to a nail-biiting victory over Mumbai Indians in the 10th season of the Indian Premier League, said that for him former Indian captain M S Dhoni is the best leader than Steven Smith.

While addressing the press conference after the match one of the reporters asked the right-hand batsman to choose the best leader between the Smith and Dhoni, to this Rahane said: “Yes, Smith did well for Australian cricket, but for me Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the best leader.”

“He (Smith) is learning from M S Dhoni, I was actually watching him taking some advices during the match`,” the middle order batsman said.

Steven Smith played a captain’s knock to guide his team Rising Pune Supergiants to a nail-bitting victory over the Mumbai Indians at the Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium in Pune on April 6.

Smith smashed two consecutive sixes to chase the 185 runs target set by Mumbai Indians with one ball to spare.

Besides Smith, former Rajasthan Royals batsman Ajinkya Rahane too played an important knock. Rahane scored 60 runs off 34 balls with six boundaries and three hits into the stands.
