The tenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is on its last leg but the entire season has been a complete package of some extraordinary batting, bowling and fielding performances. The players out there on the field have put their hundred per cent in each of the games to clinch the victory. Another superb example of fielding was presented today in the eliminator game between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) where the teams were fighting to ultimately reach the finale. It was KKR pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile who took a superb catch in the game to dismiss Chris Jordan midway.
It was the 19th over when SRH were struggling to score runs and reduced to 119 for 5. Coulter-Nile was brought into the attack while Chris Jordan, who had just come into bat at number 7 after the dismissal of Vijay Shankar, had the strike. Coulter-Nile delivered the ball and Jordan closed the face of the bat bit early. The ball kissed the leading edge of Jordan’s bat and went up in the air. Coulter-Nile rushed towards the ball, dived perfectly and took a stunning catch.
Nathan’s on-field heroic turned out to be the best catch of the evening as it stunned everyone around as he grabbed the ball. In addition, he also bowled out one of his most economical spells of the season. After bowling 4 overs, Nathan ended up taking three wickets and conceded just 20 runs at an economy rate 5 runs per over. Apart from Chris Jordan, Coulter-Nile dismissed Vijay Shankar (22) and Kane Williamson (24).
