It was the memorable day in the ongoing 10th season of the Indian Premier League. After two hat-tricks in a day, Rising Pune Supergiant player Rahul Chahar displayed the superb athleticism on the field in a match against Gujarat Lions at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium on April 14.
It was during the 11th over of Gujarat Lion’s innings when explosive batsman Brendon McCullum played the unique scoop shot towards the third man boundary. To save the six, Rahul Chahar, who was stationed in the deep by his captain Steven Smith, almost flew like a bird and stretched himself to the maximum. While Ben Stokes, who bowled the delivery, was left stunned and so the other RPS players were.
Following his act, the on-field umpire Nand Kishore referred the decision to third umpire Virender Sharma to review. After reviewing it from several camera angles, the third umpire gave the decision in favour of the fielding side.

Earlier, Gujarat Lions skipper won the toss and invited Pune to bat first. Pune got off to a poor start after they lost their in-form Ajinkya Rahane (0) in the very first over.
Later, Skipper Smith (43) played the sensible knock along with opener Rahul Tripathi (33) to take their team to the respectable score of 171 runs. During the last over of their innings, pacer Andrew Tye claimed the second hat-trick of this season. The 30-year-old Tye bagged five wickets giving away 17 runs
In reply, thanks to Dwayne Smith (47) and Brendon McCullum (49) Gujarat Lions managed to achieve the target of 172 runs with two overs to spare. This is the first win of Gujarat Lions. They have lost two of their earlier matches against Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
