Watch: Ravindra Jadeja receives warm welcome by GL teammates, coach ahead of next game against RPS

With Jadeja's comeback, the Gujarat bowling department might have gained some confidence ahead of playing RPS in Rajkot

The Indian Premier League (IPL) season 10 has not been so enjoyable for the Gujrat Lions (GL) so far. The Suresh Raina-led army of Gujarat men has not achieved any success in any of the two games played against Kolkata Knight Riders and Surisers Hyderabad respectively. Despite big names like Brendon McCullum, Dwayne Smith. Suresh Raina, Aron Finch, Dwayne Bravo, in the list, the side has lost both the games by a huge margin. And now, ahead of the third match against the Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) on April 14, another big shot of the team, Ravindra Jadeja who missed the first two games, is back and all set to don the GL jersey for the first time in this season.

After performing phenomenally in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia, Jadeja couldn’t join the GL right from the beginning as he faced some issues with his spinning finger. But now he has been declared fit to play for his team and has also joined the party ahead of the next game in Rajkot. A video has also been shared on the official Facebook page of the Gujarat Lions which shows the welcome of this Indian spinner in the team. The video was shared along with a post saying,”Let’s give a ROARING welcome to Ravindra Jadeja. Jaddu is BACK! 🙂 #RoarOnceMore #GameMaariChhe.”

Till now, the Gujarat bowlers have been the weakest aspect of team’s performance who have drastically failed to take wickets. In the first game against the Kolkata Knight Riders, despite setting a target of 184 on board, the bowlers couldn’t pluck even a single scalp and lost the game by 10 wickets.

In the second one against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, the batting line-up struggled thoroughly and the team could score only 135 after losing 7 wickets. An easy target of 138 runs was set for SRH to chase which the Gujarat bowlers again failed to defend. They could manage only one dismissal in the entire game thereby losing it by 9 wickets.

With Jadeja’s comeback, the Gujarat bowling department might have gained some confidence ahead of playing RPS in Rajkot on April 14.
