The moment we all wait came in as Match 35 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 between Gujarat Lions (GL) and Mumbai Indians (MI). It went down the last ball as Krunal Pandya got run out from Ravindra Jadeja. What came after, was the first superover of IPL season 10.

As GL fielders settled they decided who should bowl the superover for them. It was James Faulkner they chose as on the other side Jos Buttler and Kieron Pollard come into bat. Buttler takes a single off the first ball, Pollard comes on strike and he does what is expected from him. Pollard hits a four and a six on the second and third ball. Faulkner was under pressure and he did what he was supposed to.

GL sent two of their best batsmen in the business, Brendon McCullum and Aaron Finch. Jasprit Bumrah was the one who came in to bowl the superover for MI as they were defending a target of 12 runs. Finch took the strike and Bumrah committed a crime bowling a no ball. Finch missed the no ball but he was facing the FREE HIT. He went for a big shot but missed the ball, managed to take a single.

Bumrah followed it up with a wide to McCullum, another crime in superover. He followed it up with a dot ball and then just a single through byes. 8 needed off 2 balls as McCullum was on strike. Bumrah bowled another cracker of a delivery, McCullum could manage only a single off that one.

Now Finch was on strike and needed 7 runs off the last ball. He too could manage just a single off the last ball as Bumrah won the match for MI in superover by 5 runs.
