Chennai Super Kings (CSK) returned to Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 after facing a two-year ban. CSK made a remarkable comeback, winning the IPL 2018 tournament opener as well the match they played against KKR on their home ground in Chennai. However, they did not get the expected response from the fans at M A Chidambaram Stadium. Despite the security measures adopted to stop Cauvery protesters from creating a hindrance, a few made their way into the stadium and hurled shoes towards CSK’s Ravindra Jadeja and Faf du Plessis.
Eventually, Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) had to shift CSK’s home ground to Maharastra Cricket Association Stadium (MCA), Pune. However, that will not come in way of CSK fans going to the stadium and supporting their team. A special train — ‘Whistle Podu Express’ has been launched to transport CSK fans to the games.
