Ahead of the start of the Indian Premier League Season 11, Delhi Daredevils players Prithvi Shaw and Manjot Kalra on March 3 said that IPL is an opportunity for them to learn from seniors like Gautam Gambhir and Ricky Ponting.
Gautam Gambhir will be leading the Delhi side in this IPL season while former Australian Captain Ricky Ponting is the head mentor of the franchise.
Prithvi Shaw led the Indian U-19 team in the 2018 ICC World Cup which they won by beating Australians in the finals. Opener Manjot Kalra became an overnight star after smashing an unbeaten 101 off 102 balls while chasing 217 runs to win. His innings was laced with eight fours and three sixes.
When asked about possibilities of being selected in the playing XI, Manjot said,
“It’s not important for us to get picked in playing XI. There are many seniors players who deserve to get selected first. The main thing here is we’ll get to learn from our seniors.”

“We’ll definitely gain some experience as this is our first IPL season. This is an opportunity for us to learn something from our seniors like Gambhir sir (Gautam Gambhir) and Ricky sir (Ricky Ponting).”
