Lasith Malinga bowled Mumbai Indians to an emphatic victory by a run to help Mumbai Indians clinch its third Indian Premier League title, the highest by any franchisee in 10 years. Malinga played and important role to tag with Jasprit Bumrah and fox the batsman over and over again. It also has to be said that the captaincy by Rohit Sharma was top-notch to go-to the right men at the right juncture proved fruitful. After the win, the Twitter started getting flooded with congratulatory messages. Sachin Tendulkar was also present at the ground with other cricketing dignitaries. Among the celebrities reel life Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sushant Singh Rajput along with Bollywood starlet Kirti Sannon was present at Hyderabad.

He was as economical as ever giving us glimpses of the past, he gave 21 runs in his 4 overs which is phenomenal, well he may not have taken a wicket but in a low-scoring game he managed to keep a lid on the scoring. Malinga was elated after the win and gave credit to the teamwork and said it was the teamwork that crafted this victory.

So him being economical is what helped Bumrah and Johnson pick wickets because the batsman were looking to just see off Malinga and go after the remaining bowlers and that is where RPS lost the plot.
