Ravichandran Ashwin ‘mankading’ Jos Buttler was officially the first controversy of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019. From cricket fraternity to fans, everyone was divided. Some favoured Ashwin saying that he was well within his rights whereas others called it ‘disgraceful’ and ‘unsportsmanlike’. Rajasthan Royals (RR) mentor was livid with Ashwin’s actions but none of them did what English fast bowler James Anderson did.
Anderson did not just disagree with Ashwin’s methods of dismissing Buttler but shredded his photo too. The video has been making rounds on the internet.

Former Indian cricketer Deep Dasgupta was not happy with the Englishman’s actions as he tweeted:
Surely there must be a more civilised way of showing disagreement, from a cricketing legend and if that’s meant to be funny, glad I don’t have a sense of humor https://t.co/cPnazE1Im3

Not just him, Twitter was in no mood to let this pass by as they slammed the 36-year-old:
I respected @jimmy9 very much for his bowling but this act has disappointed me a lot as what @ashwinravi99 had done was within laws of cricket.
And to all of English cricketers it’s you who have made all the rules of cricket and then you are only disrespecting it. Shameful— Sahil Batra (@SahilBatra839) April 1, 2019
The sarcasm level in that tweet
Couldn’t even shred that properly. Need some cloud in the background.

Shred these!
Get over it guys, how long are you guys milk this trivial issue. Jimmy, perhaps you need to shed the ICC rule book, and the picture of the third umpire who gave it out. For gods sake, it was adjudged out. Get over it.

And the Bollywood angle
Now Ashwin should do with Blunderson’s photograph what Geet asked Aditya to do with his ex’s photo in “Jab we met”. pic.twitter.com/Mr6FYWy6Wc

The highest English wicket-taker in Tests felt that Ashwin premeditated the dismissal. He also believed that Buttler’s bat would have been inside the crease had Ashwin gone on to bowl the delivery instead of waiting for the RR batsman to go out.
