KL Rahul has been having a hard time in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. He has not been able to score as expected in the ODI series. In four matches, he came out to bat for three innings and failed to get past the two digit score two times. Rahul even struggled to tackle the spin bowling.
Rahul has only been able to score 28 runs in the three ODI innings so far at an average of 9.33. The Sri Lankan mystery spinner Akila Dananjaya still remains a mystery for him, getting his wicket on every outing whether by knocking his wickets or getting him caught. Unlike the ODI series, Rahul breezed through the Test series. He scored two half centuries in two innings he played in. He also made an Indian record for most number of half centuries in Tests on the trot (7) and also equalled the international record.
Rahul will be looking for a change of fortunes in the one-off T20I against Sri Lanka on August 6. Rahul got himself inked once again. He posted a photo of himself on his Instagram account on Septemeber 5, one day before the T20I at Colombo. This time around Rahul got a tattoo resembling his pet dog, Lion King on the back of his shoulder.
Guess who’s got my back folks?? My #lionking /a>

Before that, Rahul had to miss the first Test due to fever and was replaced by Abhinav Mukund who scored a half century as well making the most of his chances.

Rahul suffered a shoulder injury against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Rahul went under the knife and recovered from the surgery missing the whole season of Indian Premier League (IPL), ICC Champions Trophy 2017 and India vs West Indies ODI series.
It seems like Rahul needs to get back to his rhythm if he is called to play in the one-off T20I. The Lion King tattoo might just work as a lucky charm for him.
