India vs Sri Lanka 3rd Test, Day 3 at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi – Sri Lanka ended Day 3 at 356/9. They still trail India by 180 runs. Indian bowlers struck late to reduce Sri Lanka to 356/9 in their first innings on the third day of the third and final Test here on Monday. Overnight batsmen Dinesh Chandimal (147 not out) and Angelo Mathews (111) dominated India for most of the first two sessions. After Ravichandran Ashwin broke their big partnership, India removed five wickets in the third and final session to hold a lead of 180 runs with six sessions left in the game.
Earlier on Day 2, Virat Kohli slammed his 6th double century in Tests and in the process broke many records. Rohit Sharma also got a splendid half-century. But smog played spoilsport as we spotted Sri Lankan players donning masks to avoid the pollution. The infamous Delhi smog also halted play for 16 minutes on Day 2, which probably broke the concentration of the Indian batsman as we saw Virat Kohli departing just after the smog break.

For Sri Lanka, they will hope Matthews plays a Virat-like knock and also hope that others support Angelo at the other end and not get sucked into playing false shots.
