New Zealand’s young left-handed batsman Mark Chapman got out in the unluckiest fashion possible in the 5th T20I against Australia in the tri-nation series. On the last ball of 18th over, Billy Stanlake bowled a brutal bouncer coming round the wicket to Chapman. The 23-year-old tried to pull the ball but it extracted extra bounce from the pitch and struck him on the helmet. Unfortunately, the helmet got knocked off his head and hit the wickets.
However, Chapman did not incur any injury after the meaty blow to his head. He smiled and walked off the field after one of the most unfortunate dismissals (hit wicket) in T20I cricket. Colin de Grandhomme (who was at the non-striker’s end) and Stanlake later came to ask Chapman if he was okay.
