Mohammed Shami has got some support from the cricketing fraternity after his wife Hasin Jahan’s allegations including domestic violence, adultery and attempt to murder. Recently, Jahan also claimed that he might be involved in match-fixing and claimed that her Pakistani girlfriend gave her money.
Former Indian skipper Kapil Dev has come out in support of the fast bowler as he feels that Shami is innocent of the charges like match fixing. The 59-year-old also had match-fixing allegations against him later in his career. Here’s what the 1983 Word Cup-winning captain has to say in Shamis’ defense while talking to Wah Cricket,
I refuse to believe the allegations that have been levelled by Shami’s wife. If she knew about match-fixing then why didn’t she report about it earlier? When the relationship was fine, why was she silent then? There is an investigation team. Let them do their work. If Shami has done something like this then it is unacceptable and disgraceful. Shami is a brilliant hard working cricketer. I agree that his personal relationship is in trouble currently but such kind of allegations by his wife are nasty and sickening until proven.

Shami’s coach from his early cricketing days, Badruddin Siddiqui has also backed him. Siddiqui told ABP News,
Shami is a very shy person, used to always stay away from crowds. I know him and his family very well. His wife’s accusation totally false. The couple should have sorted out the matter among themselves. Last time I spoke to him was during South Africa tour.

Reverting to her wife’s match-fixing allegations, Shami said that he would rather die than do something like this. He also claimed that her wife’s mental health is not stable and she has been misled by someone.
