MS Dhoni is clearly the best wicketkeeper-batsman in India and he has enviable statistics to prove it. Dhoni took the catch of Reeza Hendricks in the 18th over and surpassed former Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara’s record of most catches in T20 cricket. Dhoni has 134 catches in T20 cricket now and his tally will only increase with a couple of T20Is followed by tri-nation T20I series against Indian Premier League (IPL).
Here’s the list of the most catches by wicketkeeper in 20-over cricket:
134 catches, MS Dhoni (India)
133 catches, Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka)
123 catches, Dinesh Karthik (India)
115 catches, Kamran Akmal (Pakistan)
108 catches, Denesh Ramdin (West Indies)
106 catches, Naman Ojha (India)
On the other hand, Dhoni has most number of dismissals (77) in T20I cricket. He has 48 catches and 29 stumpings from 87 matches. He has the most number of catches in T20Is as well. Another record awaits Dhoni as he needs just 4 more stumpings to take over Akmal’s tally of 32 stumpings in T20Is.

However, he has not been able to perform well with the bat. He has scored just 69 runs from 4 innings at an average of 34.50 and a striker rate of 81.18 which is not considered satisfactory for a modern day finisher.
