The Asia Cup Hockey 2017 is just around the corner and Team India will be looking to take the opportunity to get into the groove before Hockey World Cup 2018. This tournament, which will be hosted in Dhaka, Bangladesh, will set the tone for the upcoming Hockey World League Final later this year to be held in India. Eight teams will go up against each other. The teams are divided into two pools and will play one game each against one another. The two teams qualifying from each pool will play in a single-legged round-robin format to ascertain the winners of the tournament. The winners will get a direct entry into the World Cup next year.
The major attraction will be Pool A as India will go up against arch-rivals Pakistan. India had beaten Pakistan by 7-1 in Hockey World League this year on the same day Pakistan Cricket Team and won the finals against the Indians in the ICC Champions Trophy.
