After beating by 2-0 in the stunning quarterfinal clash against Saina Nehwal in the Indian Open Super Series 2017 on March 31, PV Sindhu is all set to play against South Korea’s Sung Ji Hyun in the semifinals on April 1. Hyun has defeated former world champion Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand by 21-16, 22-20. On the other hand, Sindhu efforts in yesterday’s against Saina has made her more confident ahead of the game which will carve her way to the finals.

Apart from this match, the other semi-final game will be played between 2016 Olympic champion Spain’s Carolina Marin and Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi. Marin defeated Japanese Minatsu Mitani 21-10, 20-22, 21-14 to set-up a clash against another Japanese. Yamaguchi got the better of compatriot seventh seed Nozomi Okuhara 21-13, 11-21, 21-18.
