August 21 happens to be the National Sports Day, a day when we Indians remember our glorious athletes. It is also the birth anniversary of India’s hockey legend, Major Dhyan Chand. He was an integral part of the gold medal winning Olympic hockey team, he also happens to be a Padma Bhushan awardee, an honour he was bestowed with in 1956. He was a true hockey legend, someone, who can be credited for putting Indian hockey on the world map. He won three Olympic gold medals in 1928, 1932 and 1936. The hockey wizard went on to represent the nation till 1948, he was 42 at the time he threw in the towel.
