The season debutant Gujarat Fortunegiants kick-started their Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) 2017 journey with a huge victory against Dabang Delhi Kabaddi Club. Under the captaincy of Sukesg Hegde, the fortunegiants hammered the Delhi men by 26-20 in the game number 7 of the PKL 2017 at the Gachibowli stadium in Hyderabad on August 1.
Gujarat captain Sukesh Hegde won the toss and chose the court after which they dominated throughout the first half. The score remained all nil until the first 3 minute. However, soon the Futuregiants got the first point of the game after they tackled Delhi captain Meraj Sheykh during a do-or-die raid. On the other hand, Delhi looked completely struggling for a point in the first five minutes while they went for a substitution and brought Rohit Baliyan in. Though Delhi had some initial points, they failed to get back the grip in the game. In the last 36 second of the first half, all Delhi men got out while Gujarat had already taken a 9 point lead by then. During the last 10 seconds, Sukesh Hegde earned another raid point while the first half ended with Gujarat leading the half with straight 10 points.

Gujarat Fortunegiants: 15 (5 raid Points)
The Gujarat team kept its lead intact and began the 2nd half with earning a raid point in the first minute itself. After 10 minutes, Delhi had completely lost the plot and were way behind. Gujarat’s point tally was increasing and had reached to 25 points. On the other hand, Delhi men were struggling with a mere 9 points. After 15 minutes of the game, Delhi finally managed to surpass 10 points benchmark but still lagged by 13 points then. Towards the end of this half, Delhi men showed an improved game and even tackled all the Gujarat players but it was too late by then.
