Fourth seed PV Sindhu outplayed Chinese ninth seed Chen Yufei of China 21-13, 21-10 in 48 minutes

It was a mixed day for India at the World Badminton Championship at Glasgow, where both the Indian shuttlers made it to the semi finals. But one of the lost and one of them made it to the all-important finals, which will be played on August 27. PV Sindhu has been in red hot form, ever since she won the silver medal at the Rio Olympics. Earlier Saina Nehwal, who had also made the semi finals, lost in a three-set battle. Fourth seed PV Sindhu outplayed Chinese ninth seed Chen Yufei of China 21-13, 21-10 in 48 minutes in a superlative display to set-up a title clash against Japanese seventh seed Nozomi Okuhara, who had got the better of the other Indian, Saina Nehwal.

It could be a memorable Sunday for India if Sindhu manages to bring back gold. This will be a major addition to Sindhu’s CV. This will be the third medal for Sindhu in the World Championship. She had won bronze twice in the 2013 and 2014 editions. She has already bettered her best at this tournament but all eyes will be etched on her to see if she can overcome the final hurdle. Here is how Twitter reacted after Sindhu made it to the finals.
