Riogate: Two medicos traveling with Indian contingent were under-qualified

The CBI has already launched a probe, but is that good enough, only time will tell. This also happens to be a classical case of nepotism

This one is a real shocker. All along we knew about this, but it never came to the fore. Well, finally it has, last year when the Indian contingent went to represent the nation at Rio Olympics, the most prestigious sporting extravaganza in the world. It is discovered that a couple of medical assistants who were travelling with the team were under-qualified. So who explains about why this gaffe happened? Obviously the Olympic committee but no one has responded as yet. The Central Bureau of Investigation has already launched a probe, but is that good enough, only time will tell. This also happens to be a classical case of nepotism.

It is alleged that Dr Pawandeep Singh and Col R S Negi were radiologists and did not have “requisite qualification and experience” but were sent to the games from July 24, 2016 to August 23, 2016 with the Indian contingent.

Dr. Singh infact happens to be the son of IOA Vice President Tarlochan Singh and was sent with the team as Chief Medical Officer. So, this proves it all.

Negi is also believed to be a distant relative of an IOA office bearer. Agency sources said there are allegations of nepotism, favouritism, and irregularities against certain officials of the IOA which are being examined by the CBI.

India had won two medals at the games in Rio last year. PV Sindhu brought glory to ther nation by bagging the silver medal and Sakshi Malik by winning the bronze in a riveting clash.
