American Tennis sensation Serena Williams has become a proud mother of a baby girl. The 35-year-old tennis star was admitted to the St Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida on Wednesday before going into labour overnight. The baby girl was born on September 1. As learned from several media reports, the baby weighed 6 lbs., 13 oz. The entire Williams family is extremely happy to have a new member in the family. He elder sister Venus Williams also stated that she is super excited after she got the news. Currently, Venus is participating at the US Open in New York.
According to PTI, Williams has vowed to return to competitive tennis in January to defend her Australian Open title, which she won while she was newly pregnant. Williams last month told Vogue in a wide-ranging interview that she had set herself a goal of returning to play in Melbourne at next year’s Open.
Meanwhile, many celebrities and sports stars wished Serena for being a mother of a baby girl. Also, the fans took to their social media accounts to wish the American Tennis star for her daughter.
