Star Indian boxer Vijender Singh, finally, made it 10th win in a row in his pro-boxing career after he punched out Ghana’s Ernest Amuzu on December 23 at the Sawai Mansingh indoor stadium in Jaipur. The Olympic bronze medalist won the match by umpires’ unanimous decision and defeated his African opponent.
It was a 10-round fight which turned out to the most challenging bout in the tournament. Vijender started steady and spent the first round analysing his opponent’s move. Right from the next round, he came back strong in the game and played with increased confidence. Amuzu looked pretty exhausted after the 4th round while Vijender seemed to enjoy the game with a cool head. During the last minute of the 5th round, Vijender got a mild cut on his forehead but continued to punch hard Amuzu.

The second half of the game saw an aggressive Vijender hitting much harder his African opponent. Amuzu struggled in every round which allowed the Indian boxer to dominate. In the final round, Amuzu tried really hard to fight back but Vijender didn’t let him do so.

Vijender won the bout with the unanimous decision of the umpires and won the 10th game of his professional boxing career.
Earlier, in the first game between Bhiwani’s Dharmendra Grewal and Mumbai’s Harsh Nagar, Dharmendra won the match within 45 seconds in the second round itself. His knockout punch injured Nagar’s nose which started bleeding. Later, the Bhiwani boxer was declared as the winner by technical knockout.

In the match number two, Haryana’s Kuldeep Dhanda fought with debutant Fateh Singh in a 6-round lightweight category match. It was a tough match where Dhanda was the aggressor in the first round while the Fateh came back in the second. Though it was his debut game, gave a tough fight to Dhanda. However, after the final round, Dhanda won the bout by unanimous decision. With this victory, Dhanda won his 7th consecutive bout.

24-year-old Manoj Kumar also made his debut in pro boxing and fought against Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Amandeep Singh in the next match. It was yet another power-packed face-off where Amandeep won by majority decision.
Asad Asif vs Sunil Siwach bout went out to be a draw! As they both fought great and no-one was ready to give up. In another bout between Kuldeep Singh and Amrinder Singh, Kuldeep won by knock out decisions.
