As soon as Roger Federer became the winner for the 8th time, the wittiest Twitterati of the recent times, Virender Sehwag praised him the most and that too in his own way

On July 16, Swiss tennis star Roger Federer clinched his 19th career grand slam title after he defeated Croatia’s Marin Cilic by 6-3, 6-1 and 6-4 in straight sets. This is his eighth Wimbledon title which he won heroically. He has now surpassed former US star Pete Sampras and William Renshaw of Britain to win the highest number of men’s singles titles at Wimbledon. 35-year-old Federer has been in superb form in this year’s edition, conquering the title without dropping even a single set throughout the tournament.

After winning the game and owning the title for the eighth time in his career, he spoke to the media where he said,”This tournament I’ve played, not dropping a set and holding the trophy, it’s magical. It’s too much really,” Federer said after the final. It’s cruel sometimes but (Marin) fought well and he’s a hero.”

On the other hand, all the tennis followers, especially the Roger Federer fans, on the social media erupted with joy and they wished their hero on his success on the microblogging site, Twitter. Several international cricketers also took to their Twitter accounts to congratulate the Swiss tennis star. And above all, the wittiest Twitterati of the recent times, Virender Sehwag praised him the most and that too in his own way. He wrote,”Congratulations legend @rogerfederer on winning your 8th #WimbeldonFinal. Champion amongst champions you are. What a treat to watch.”

Apart from Viru Paaji, here are the other cricketers who wished world number 3 for his grand victory:
