After India lost to Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 on June 18, a video went viral on the social media where Indian speedster Mohammad Shami was seen getting indulged in a spat with a spectator who was shouting,”Baap Kaun Hai“. Later, Mahendra Singh Dhoni intervened and took Shami away. Days after that incident, another video is gaining a huge number of views on the YouTube in which an Indian fan could be seen slapping a guy who had donned the Pakistan green jersey while the police officials were present at the spot.
According to a report published on Jansatta.com, the fans of both the nations gathered on streets and started chanting slogans against each other. As per the video shared, a man wearing the green Pakistani jersey was surrounded by few Indian fans and suddenly one of those Indians comes forward and slaps the Pakistani fan while others rushed towards him to thrash him more. However, the security personnel present there cleared the crowd and took the Pakistani man away from Indians. Later, fans of both nations gathered on two opposite sides of the street and opposed each other. The Pakistan people threw things on the Indian crowd while the Indians chanted,”Pakistan Murdabad” loud and clear.
As per the reports, the Pakistani who was slapped could probably be the one who was shouting “Baap Kaun Hai” when the Indian players were returning to the dressing room.
After losing to Pakistan by 180 runs on June 18, while the entire Indian team was on their way to the dressing room, a man was filming the Indian players and continuously shouting “Baap Kaun Hai“. This shouting made Shami lose his cool. He turned back, approached the Pakistani fan and asked him to repeat what he said. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni intervened and asked Shami to ignore the comments and silently move upstairs and not react to the abusive fan.
